This is only a couple of minutes long but I hope it helps you.
For my part, the joy of Osteopathy is that it is so varied - not only what I am requested to help but also the techniques I can use and the subtle differences which are tailor-made for the client under my hands at the time.
I realise that it also makes it more difficult to describe and understand as a client! Sometimes I also find it hard to explain!
I can use a variety of modalities - manipulation, massage, articulation, cranio-sacral technique and more - but the biggest changes are the intelligent use of all the facts from talking to the client, the palpatory and examination findings and then the differential diagnostic procedure to come to a conclusion and decisions about where to go from there.
THAT is where the magic of Osteopathy really exists! That part usually defies explanation!
